This year's Suncoast Super Boat Grand Prix Festival celebrates 25 years and Sarasota remains one of the longest continuously running race sites in the world. Race teams from around the world refer to Sarasota as the "Indy 500 of Super Boat Racing." Race teams are not the only winners in this annual event: local children and families are the true winners. More than $14 million in facilities have been constructed for various local charities, providing services to consumers over the past 24 years, thanks to the net proceeds raised by the Suncoast Foundation for the Handicapped. CBS Television will be filming a one-hour special to air during CBS sports' Saturday afternoon lineup this fall, providing a tremendous amount of national exposure to the Festival and to the Sarasota area.
Additional information is available on www.lakewoodranch.com. To purchase tickets please contact events@lakewoodranch.com, or call 941-757-1548. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a short leash.
